Earthtouch is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to
connecting nature and people through land preservation and experience.
We do this by providing natural spaces and learning experiences as the
foundation for understanding personal, ecological and global health.
Earthtouch is a Nature Preserve on more than 430 acres of protected
woodlands in Southeastern Ohio near the Hocking Hills. This rural area
consists primarily of farmlands, extensive woodlands and one of Ohio’s
first state parks, Lake Hope. The wooded hills and natural scenery
render it among the most attractive areas in the state. The area also
includes beautiful lakes, streams, creeks, hills and wildlife –
especially deer and wild turkeys.

The land
supports a variety of
ecosystems and offers guests open meadows, deep woods, moist hollows,
rock ledges and ridges. Meandering, well maintained walking trails
allow easy access to all of the natural areas.
Our Philosophy
The overriding
philosophy is to foster respect for nature by providing the opportunity
to enjoy and appreciate the natural environment. Whether nature lover
or urban dweller, everyone can enjoy peace and beauty at Earthtouch.
At the heart of our philosophy is a commitment to being and teaching
sustainability in its many forms. We are exploring sustaining the
earth in a time of global warming, sustaining our ability to work and
flourish as individuals and as community members, and sustaining and
nourishing our essence through our connection with the natural world.
These activities will allow us to maintain our personal and community
health as we face life’s many challenges. We are creating, with the
support of local experts, a land management model that enables us to use
the land in a manner that honors it, restores it, contributes to the
health of the animals, plants and trees that live on it, and possibly
generates food or herbs for the local community.
As a non-profit enterprise, we strive to operate in a transparent
manner. We are a learning laboratory for exploring and implementing
sustainable concepts for how people can live harmoniously with
nature.
We are looking for opportunities to become a self funding operation
using our land resources to fund further land acquisition, taxes,
insurance, educational programming, land management and restoration.
