Preservation

earthtouch preserving nature

Preservation in its simplest terms means to care for something so it is available in the future. To do so with something as unique as the earthtouch land requires a thoughtful and pragmatic approach.

One school of thought seeks to seal up nature in a jar, to keep it in its pure and natural state, uninhibited by human intervention. There is certainly some value in this approach, and there are many organizations throughout the world acquiring land for such a purpose.

At earthtouch, our perspective is a bit different. Much of the earthtouch land has been ravaged by human intervention over the years, even altered irrevocably. Yet nature is adapting and thriving with new life and new energy. Our aim in preserving this place for the future does not lie in sealing it up, but rather opening it up carefully, in harmony with humanity, so both can interact and play in a restorative and healthy manner that can sustain both in this place for a long time.

We currently care for 380 acres and are interested in increasing our property boundaries. If you or someone you know is interested in assisting with our preservation efforts by either donating land or helping to raise money, please contact us at: info@earthtouchpreserve.org

Only when the last tree has died
and the last river been poisoned
and the last fish been caught
will we realize we cannot eat money.

I do not think the measure of a civilization is how tall its buildings of concrete are, But rather how well its people have learned
to relate to their natural world and their fellow man.
